VFW Post 10804 was chartered on September 5, 1989, with 36 members, and was
located in Little River, SC. During its inception, post meetings were held at various
locations, including the North Myrtle Beach Library and the Golden Griddle Restaurant.
After several years, the post was able to rent property in a strip mall on Sea Mountain
Highway, across from North Myrtle High School in Nixon's Crossroads. The post
remained at that location for several years until a new property was purchased and the
current building was erected in 1999.
VFW Post 10804 currently has 407 members, including veterans of every major US
conflict since World War II. Our current commander, Tom Bowman, is a Viet Nam
veteran, and our immediate past commander, Don Mollenhauer, served in WWII.
VFW Post 10804 is active in our community in many ways, and we wholeheartedly
support our troops currently serving overseas. We look forward to welcoming any
brothers and sisters returning from current conflicts. Post meetings are held the 2nd
Saturday of each month, at 11:00 AM, in the canteen.
